Breckenridge

Breckenridge is a neighborhood located in Morrisville, which is basically in the heart of the Triangle. The main entrance to the subdivision is off of Davis Drive about 2 miles east of 540.

Originally developed by Pulte Homes in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the neighborhood has a mix of housing types including detached homes, cluster townhomes, and three story townhomes. The neighborhood is a swim and tennis community and has plenty of walking paths and a playground for the kids.

The lots are not large - which can be a plus or a minus depending on what you are looking for. There are some basement lots for the detached homes which are somewhat rare for the area. The majority of homes are slab construction with partial brick and/or vinyl siding. You can get a lot of home for the money here - Pulte is a national builder that can build'em pretty inexpensively.

The cluster townhomes are an interesting home style. Basically, these homes are attached at each side only by the storage closets, so there are no shared walls in the living spaces between the homes. They really live like detached homes.

Breckenridge's biggest strength is the location. If you work in Research Triangle Park, you will find this neighborhood to be a very easy commute. If you travel for your job, RDU Airport is right around the corner. The neighborhood is in the RDU Airport Overlay Zone, which means you will have some plane noise.

The amenities have sprung up here as well - there is a very nice Harris Teeter anchored shopping center adjacent to Breckenridge and there are additional restaurants a mile or two up Davis Drive. With easy access to 540, Brier Creek shopping is a quick shot up the road.
